BLOOD AND FIRE

CHAPTER 348: BLOOD AND FIRE
With determination, you snatch a sturdy branch from the ground—its surface rough and ready for action—and position yourself beside Ace. The Abomination charges, its grotesque figure barreling through the underbrush with a force that shakes the earth. You swing the branch with all your might, the impact jarring your arms as it connects with the creature's rotting flesh. It barely flinches, its eyes filled with relentless hunger.

Ace moves with practiced ease, his knife flashing in the dim light as he strikes at the beast. The Abomination retaliates, swiping with a malformed arm, narrowly missing Ace but sending a gust of fetid air your way. The heat from the encroaching fire licks at your back, reminding you of the narrowing window for escape.

The two of you circle the monster, a deadly dance in the heart of chaos, the roaring flames casting flickering shadows across your desperate struggle. The inferno encroaches, swallowing the forest inch by inch, the heat pushing you closer to the Abomination.

Suddenly, a loud crack splits the air—a flaming tree collapses, sending embers flying and blocking your only path of retreat. You're trapped, the flames and the beast closing in. In this moment of peril, adrenaline courses through your veins, every instinct screaming for survival.
All Choices That Were Available:
  • 1. Throw yourself into harm's way to distract the Abomination, giving Ace a chance to attack. 😇
  • 2. Use Ace as a distraction and make a break for it, leaving him to fend for himself. 😈
  • 3. Set off an explosive, hoping the blast will take out the Abomination, and hope you survive the shockwave.
  • 4. Suggest climbing the fallen tree to get above the Abomination and gain a tactical advantage.
